Christmas 2013
Our Christmas 2013 outreach was held under the bridge in New Orleans on Christmas morning. We served chili, crackers, pastries, etc. We also had 13 homeless people who had previously given me a Wish List of things needed -- to God be the Glory, each and every one of those people were adopted and Wishes granted. Their gifts were wrapped individually and then placed in a big colorful Santa bag. I cannot tell you how thankful they were and truly amazed that people who didn't know them cared enough to buy them Christmas gifts. I have shared a couple of those photos. We also had an abundance of other warm clothing, blankets, hats, scarves, gift bags, etc. that were given to others not on the Wish List. Almost everyone was able to receive something. We had OVER 50 volunteers (and only a couple that had served previously) and served over 200 homeless. We were so truly blessed by this outreach.
We also experienced two miracles that day:
1. Miracle of abundance once again -- we had enough chili to serve all the way to the last person in line -- and amazingly it stayed warm even in the 50 degree weather. God is so Good -- He even cares about the little things!!! We also had a young lady and her 2 sons and mother drive up with a car full of box dinners to add to the chili. We also had a box truck pull up to us and open it's back doors for us to take all the pastries (pies, cakes, breads, etc.) we wanted. We had so many sweets to share!!!
2. Miracle of Christmas morning 2013 years ago remembered: During our outreach, a young couple with an 8-week old baby boy came to visit us and in need of diapers and a few things for their son. This was the sweetest couple and precious child that came to visit us. Just step back in time about 2013 years ago, to another Christmas morning where a young couple and their baby boy found themselves in a desperate situation. WOW!!! What a step back in time to the birth of our Savior given to us in real-time on Christmas morning 2013!!!! God is SO Faithful!!! We have some amazing servant friends who stepped in and ran to buy diapers, and provided other help that was needed. This young family enjoyed their warm chili and the loving new family and friends they met.
